Zac Brown Band first performed on a Sixthman cruise when they were chosen as the winner of the 2004 Battle of the Band contest for The Rock Boat ‘04.

Since then, Zac and his crew have performed on nine different Sixthman events. Now, the Zac Brown Band are launching their own cruise,  Sailing Southern Ground, this Labor Day weekend (September 2-6).

Brown wants to bring his story full circle, and is inviting one talented songwriter to join him and...

Zac Brown Band just announced that they're going to be taking a picture with EVERYONE who boards Sailing Southern Gound!  Pretty awesome stuff!  Oh, and did we mention that they'll be holding a Q&A session for 800 lucky guests on board as well?  And now you know!

For those of you who have had a chance to check out one of the "Eat n Greet's" on Zac Brown Band's recent tour, you probably had the chance to meet Chef Rusty: the band's personal chef who can cook up one hell of a Southern meal.  

When Chef Rusty found out that Zac Brown Band was headlining a cruise, he knew he'd have his hands full bringing Zac Brown Band's southern home cookin' to a cruise ship in the Caribbean. So, he hopped on the Carnival Inspiration a few weeks back and started making plans!  Here's what went down:

We have two new additions to the Sailing Southern Ground family: Cadillac Sky and Joey+Rory!

According to the Boston Herald, Cadillac Sky's "songwriting stands out with its fearless appropriation of rock, pop, blues and old-time dance music," and Folkwax explains that their shows "have enough energy and rock 'n roll to force their audiences to start dancing in the aisles." Great songwriting and incredibly energetic live shows - we think they'll feel right at home on board.

Now, as for Joey+Rory - they're a husband and wife duo that only started performing as a duo for the audition of CMT's hit series, Can You Duet, in early 2008 - but you'd never know it. They bring beautiful harmonies, top-notch songwriting and a natural joyfulness, authenticity, and romance to traditional country music. We're glad they could join us!
